This Privacy Policy explains how MiniScript Labs ("we", "us") handles information in connection with our website and our Shopify apps, CherryPatch, AI 404 Redirects, and Inventory IQ (the "Apps"). By installing or using an App, you agree to the practices described here.
Who we are
MiniScript Labs is an independent micro-SaaS studio building focused apps for Shopify merchants. You can reach us any time at miniscriptlabs@gmail.com.
Information we access
When you install an App, Shopify grants it access only to the data the App needs to work:
- CherryPatch accesses your themes' settings and section data (the structured JSON of a theme) so it can compare two themes and copy the changes you select. Before any change is written, a timestamped backup of the affected file is created and stored so you can undo it.
- AI 404 Redirects accesses requested URLs that return a 404 and your store's product, collection, and page metadata (such as titles and handles) so it can match a broken link to the most relevant destination and create redirects.
- Inventory IQ accesses your product catalog (titles, SKUs, unit costs), inventory levels per location, and order line items so it can forecast stockouts and suggest reorder quantities. Order data is reduced to daily units-sold totals per product the moment it's processed — the app is read-only and never modifies anything in your store.
- Store and account details such as your store domain and the email associated with your Shopify account, used for support, billing, and service notifications.
Customer personal data
The Apps are not designed to collect your customers' personal data. AI 404 Redirects matches links using product catalog information only — no customer personal data is sent to AI providers. CherryPatch operates on theme configuration and does not read customer or order records. Inventory IQ processes order line items solely to compute per-product daily sales totals for forecasting; customer names, emails, addresses, and other personal details are never requested, stored, or shared — only aggregate unit counts are retained.
How we use AI
AI 404 Redirects uses AI to match a broken link to the most relevant page by meaning. You can use the built-in AI, or connect your own OpenAI or Google Gemini account. When AI is used, only product catalog information (such as product and collection titles) is sent to the AI provider to perform the match. We do not use your data to train AI models.
Inventory IQ does not use external AI services — its forecasts are computed with statistical models on our own servers, and no store data leaves our infrastructure for AI processing.
Third parties we share data with
We share data only with service providers that make the Apps work:
- Shopify — the platform the Apps run on.
- AI providers (OpenAI and/or Google Gemini) — for link matching in AI 404 Redirects, as described above.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to run and store App data securely.
- Email delivery provider (Resend) — to send the optional weekly digest email to the address a merchant configures in Inventory IQ.
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
Data retention
We keep data only as long as needed to provide the Apps. Theme backups created by CherryPatch are retained so you can restore previous versions, and can be deleted by you. When you uninstall an App, the associated data is deleted in line with Shopify's requirements.
For Inventory IQ, all store data is deleted within 30 days of uninstalling (immediately upon a data-erasure request from Shopify), and retained sales data consists of aggregate daily totals only.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the data we hold about you. To make a request, email miniscriptlabs@gmail.com and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Apps evolve. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
